1. Jatoli Shiv Temple

One of the tallest Shiva temples in Asia, Jatoli Shiv Temple stands 122 feet high. It’s believed that Lord Shiva meditated at this location, which makes it a deeply spiritual place for devotees. Located about 7 km from Solan’s Mall Road, it takes roughly 25–30 minutes by taxi to reach.

The temple is perched atop a hill, offering panoramic views and impressive architecture. You’ll also find rare Rudraksha trees within the temple premises.

Tip: Visit during Mahashivratri for a festive experience, but be prepared for large crowds.

2. Dagshai Jail Museum

This historical jail, located in the quiet town of Dagshai (17 km from Solan), dates back to 1849. It was used to imprison Indian freedom fighters, including Mahatma Gandhi, who spent some time here. The museum now displays the original jail cells, Gandhi’s Charkha (spinning wheel), vintage photos, and colonial-era artifacts.
